This project involved designing a book that captures the essence of Rogan art — a rare and intricate painting technique from Kutch, India.
As part of the research process, the team travelled to Kutch to document the craft firsthand, interact with artisans, and gain deeper insight into its cultural significance. The book serves not just as an informative piece, but as a visual journey through a traditional art form at risk of fading into obscurity.

To ensure authenticity, the project involved firsthand documentation through a field visit to Kutch. Artisans were interviewed, techniques were observed in person.
The cultural significance of Rogan painting was explored — from the castor oil base to the mirror-reflection printing method.

Structure that serves the story.
The grid system was built to balance editorial rigour with visual immersion — letting the patterns breathe without losing the written narrative.
A two-column grid provided structure for storytelling and readability. Full-spread visuals created immersive engagement with the Rogan patterns. Pull quotes and captions highlighted artisan voices and key insights.
